some sleep training tips!

Ok here are some sleep training tips.

It’s bedtime but the baby looks quite energetic. Do you put the baby to sleep or do you want to stay up until it gets really tired? The answer is simple bedtime is bedtime and even if the baby does not look tired It should go to sleep really fast. Just remember this only will happen if the baby had proper energy burned throughout the day and was fed well!

Validate password so that it does not allow character repitition n times

So you want to make sure that your ascii password doesn’t haven any character recurring more than n times.

Here is what I came up with!

Unicoding…just increase your int array to accommodate!

static bool HasMultiple(string pass,int num)
{
var CharCheck = new int[256];
for (int x = 0; x < pass.Length; x++) {

if (CharCheck[pass[x]] > num-1)
{
return true;
}
else
{
CharCheck[pass[x]] ++;
}
}
return false;
}

Multitasking Overload and Brushing a baby’s gums and teeth

One very important routine in the evening after my wife leaves to work is “toothbrush time.”

So i was holding my 5 month old in my arms while brushing my other kids teeth.  I put toothpaste on the brush and while looking at myself in the bathroom mirror, I began brushing.  Something was strange. The child was not wiggling away as they usually would.  Then our 5 year old said in a gentle inquisitive voice, “Dad, your brushing the baby’s teeth!”  Mind you, she doesn’t have any.

If this happens to you just relax, it’s normal!  And funny too!

The best part was that she loved it.  It had a pacifying effect.

My wife told me that it probably felt great on her gums, as she has already began teething,

My advice, get a baby toothbrush, wet it with water, and brush their gums.

I heard that it can prevent issues with childhood teeth later on.

Toothpaste?…ask your Dentist.

The importance of properly swaddling/wrapping a baby.

With our first two kids we ignored it and we payed the price.  They were up every hour.  This time…much different.  Why?  It’s that great feeling of security and control.  Obviously this feeling of being wrapped up mimics that of being in side mother’s stomach.  I suggest even more.  Baby in their first few months are learning how to use their arms and legs.  They move alot, and while you may project on them that that know what they are moving and how to move it…they don’t.

Those extremities are are out of control and need to be swaddled!

Imagine a person lying down in bed and suddenly you arms starts moving around.  Wouldn’t you wake up.

Now for the wrapping technique:

Use a soft loose knit baby blanket, breathable stretchy and cotton.

1)Extend the blanket.

2)Fold the top third.

3)Make sure to wrap folded (red area) 2-3 times around the baby just below the shoulder bone tight.

swaddle

This approach ensures extra support for the arms.

I’m not so concerned about the feet movement. I feel that if a baby kicks or lifts their feet it’s not involuntary, just gas.

Relaxing sounds, but for who?

One night with my newborn was quite crazy.  She just wouldn’t relax!

So i had to brainstorm.  I thought maybe she just needs some soothing background noise.

I quickly found a website called calmsound.com.

After listening to some rainwater, she just fell immediately asleep.  I proceeded to order the CD.

This led me to wonder why this works so nicely?

Image the world the way it was at night time, lights out, crickets, howling wolves, and screaching owls.  These perpetual sounds, could sooth anyone to sleep.  The day is over, all is peaceful. (That is, of course, if its not too cold, hot, etc.)

Fast forward to 2014, artificial light, brain-racking silence, how could you sleep?

Sure cooing and rocking helps.

Truth be it, even if the baby is crying for other reasons, and cannot be soothed by sounds, the background noise still help.

It helps you!  Thats right! It’s 2AM, screaming baby. About to loose your cool.

Mute out the scream and focus on the rain drops.

Just calmly hold and rock the baby.  A calm parent is a must, at all times!
